It is generally accepted among food lovers in Nicaragua that the Atlantic Coast, with its rich seafood and coconut based cuisine, offers up some of the best fare in the country. However it is not necessary to travel across the breadth of the country to sample quality Coast cooking. Hidden away in one of Managua’s overlooked neighborhoods, Bambule Bar is an oasis of tranquility and slow coast vibes amid the mayhem of the city.
Entering the bar it is immediately apparent that this is a locale with a difference, from the eclectic mix of items hauled from the sea to the natural hand crafted tables and lampshades, Bambule has an authenticity that is missing from many of the city’s sterile high-end eateries.
And the character doesn’t end with the decor; owner Washington Hodgson prepares the best costeño food in Managua with special ingredients imported fresh from the Atlantic Coast. The fried fish is fresh, crispy and full of flavor, while the garlic shrimp are also a popular choice. But if there is one dish that represents classic costeño cooking it is rondon, and in Bambule the rondon is cooked just as it should be with plenty of coconut in the sauce, soft cassava, dasheen, plantain and tender smoked meats or seafood. Both the fish and smoked beef versions are exceptional, but the true highlight of the menu is the rondon with wild boar.
When you have finished eating, Bambule is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a few drinks accompanied by the sounds of classic Caribbean music. There is even a tiny dance floor to burn off all the calories before abandoning this little slice of the Atlantic Coast and heading back to the big city outside.

Es un lugar Fantastico y me encanta comer en el Bambule, siempre que visito Managua no dejo de ir a comer un Delicioso Coctel de Camarones y un Arroz con Camarones que también son deliciosos!! Saludos a mi Amigo Washington!!
