“I think that as a designer you need to have some inspiration from your culture.”

The homegirl Lucha (you can check out a piece on her in Hecho 01) put me up on her boy Deuce Eclipse, an artist who has been putting it down in the Bay Area, representing Nicaragua to the fullest.
Originally born in Boaco, Deuce Eclipse has been heavily influenced by his Nicaraguan heritage and hip hop culture.
Versatility may be his biggest strength. In the countless clips and songs you can find on his websites and the internet he doesn’t showcase one specific style; he moves from straight up hip hop, to a more experimental sound, to an almost dancehall style and then even as a rock and roll singer, flowing interchangeably between Spanish and English.
A well-rounded emcee, you always have the feeling that Deuce Eclipse is a man with a lot to say, whether the message be political, introspective or just talking about how they do it in the Bay.
His latest project is lead singer for the band Bang Data, a group made up of established Bay Area musicians cooking up a bilingual recipe full of latin/rock/reggae/hip hop flavor topped off by the undeniable charisma of Deuce Eclipse.
The band has recently released their debut EP full of dopeness, entitled “Maldito Carnaval.” Download it from iTunes or a number of other online music sites, and count on HECHO to keep you updated on the latest moves from this talented musician.
